Workdays resume Sept. 4

Freewheels will resume volunteer workdays on Friday, Sept. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon at our shop, 6020 Jessamine #204 in the Gulfton area of Southwest Houston.

We recently received 18 bikes collected as part of an Eagle Scout project that need inspection and repair before they are distributed to refugees, teenagers and recently homeless veterans.

During this phase, several rules will be enforced:

1. Participation will be limited to six volunteers during each shift.
2. Because of social distancing, bike repair instruction will be limited. Please keep your skill level in mind as you consider attending.
3. Repair stands will be located outside. Only one volunteer will be allowed in the inside (air-conditioned) work areas at a time.
4. Safe distancing will be required.
5. All participants will be required to wear masks. No exceptions.
