Freewheels Houston donors responded to a $20,000 challenge from the Scott Wizig Family Fund, and the result is $40,000 that will directly support our all-volunteer project to provide bikes and safety gear for refugees, veterans, and young people in need.

A Direct Route to Stability

A Freewheels bike is more than transportation; it’s a tool for resilience. We provide free, fully repaired bikes to people who need them most—enabling transportation where public transit is unreliable or unavailable.

Although the match has been met, Freewheels still offers “bang for the donated buck.” A $60 donation will pay for the parts and supplies required to refurbish a bike and providing the rider with a lock, lights, a helmet and a bell.
