New Monday bike repair shift for Freewheels volunteers

Freewheels Houston is adding a new shift on Mondays from 4-7 p.m. for volunteers to repair used bikes for people who need transportation to work and school in Houston. Freewheels will continue to welcome bike repair volunteers on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon at its warehouse at 6020 Jessamine #204 in southwest Houston’s Gulfton neighborhood.

Volunteers of any skill level–experts, people who have worked on their own bikes and newcomers–are welcome to participate. Experienced volunteers enjoy sharing their knowledge with people just starting out.

Freewheels Houston was established in 2015 to provide transportation alternatives for refugees and others who need a way to get to work, school and other destinations. We have provided about 500 safe, reliable bikes that were donated by generous Houstonians.
