While our volunteers contribute all the labor, there are direct costs associated with making each bike road-ready for its new owner. We buy bike parts–tubes and tires, chains and cables–as well as a new helmet, a secure lock and front and rear lights for every rider, ensuring safety and compliance. These essential items represent a direct cost of $60 per bike.

By becoming a Freewheels Bike Builder through our monthly giving program, you directly contribute to these crucial costs, empowering individuals with reliable, safe transportation. Your recurring gift allows us to plan for the future, reaching more individuals in need and providing them with the gift of mobility.
